Burgundy's Golden Slope - One Day Wine Tour
Arguably the most prestigious vineyards in the world this sinuous strip of vines stretching south west from the city of Dijon is home to Burgundy’s most valued wines.
Local signposts point to villages and towns with names like Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits St Georges, Pommard , Meursault... The names of these unassuming medieval settlements have been associated with fine wines of great character for many centuries.
Visiting and tasting wines from these villages has never been easy as volume from these tiny family owned plots is small and much of the wine has been allocated to existing clients. However Brendan has built up friendships with many families during his 20 years working in the region. During a day he can arrange exclusive cellar visits and tastings to savour the incredible velvety pinot noirs like Gevrey Chambertin and Nuits St Georges in the Cote de Nuits and the rich whites and berry nuanced reds from the Cote de Beaune. Time will also be spent in the vineyards to understand the tapestry of vineyards, their history and appellations.
Pick up would be from your accommodation after breakfast and we would visit two producers in the morning followed by a simple café lunch or picnic then continue with more village and vineyard exploration in the afternoon with a final tasting returning by 5pm
